Swim-in Leiden

1.000m breaststroke. 2nd place in my age group! 🥈🎉 I am not an open-water specialist, but I love what nature throws my way! 🌊 On the 15th of June, I participated in the 13th edition of the Speedo Swim-In, an open water competition in the canals in Leiden! 🏊‍♂️ No lane to guide you, no push-offs every 50m. Just continuous motion, your body invisible beneath the water, constantly adjusting direction, rationing every bit of energy. Sometimes your hand touches something unexpected, or you glide past a water lily, smiling carelessly at the sun. 🌸☀️ My friends on the sidelines gave this whole experience a different soul. I'm so grateful! 🙏💙 At 48, I'm learning that the most meaningful progress comes not from staying in your lane, but from adapting to waters you've never swum before. 💪 The real victory isn't reaching Singapore - it is discovering that age becomes irrelevant when you keep choosing growth over comfort. ✨🇸🇬
